AITS Workshop

Background

 Infrastructure serves as the backbone of our societies, providing essential services and supporting economic growth and social well-being. However, traditional infrastructure development often falls short in addressing the complex challenges of the modern world. Climate change, population growth, natural disasters, and resource constraints demand a new approach that prioritizes resilience and sustainability.

In this workshop on Building Resilient and Sustainable Infrastructure, participants (engineers, architects, developers, and academic experts) will delve into the fundamental principles of resilient and sustainable infrastructure. We will examine the integration of advanced technologies, innovative design methodologies, and efficient resource management to create an infrastructure that is both robust and environmentally friendly. Through engaging discussions and case studies, we will explore the latest trends and successful projects.

Established in 2010 as an outreach center by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), AIT Solutions has been actively engaging with industry and community partners to share AIT’s expertise in engineering, technology, infrastructure, and knowledge transfer activities. With a strong focus on structural engineering and software development, AIT Solutions has successfully worked in these domains, as well as their related fields, to create solutions for industry and government partners. Some notable examples of these solutions include drone-based construction monitoring and structural health assessment, which have been piloted in real-world project scenarios.

With an experienced in-house team, AIT Solutions has contributed to over 150 tall building projects, providing solutions and services in areas such as performance-based seismic design, wind engineering studies, and real-time structural health monitoring. These endeavors highlight AIT Solutions’ commitment to advancing the resilience and sustainability of infrastructure, enabling the creation of safer, more efficient, and enduring structures.
